Wherever I go my sketch pad and watercolours go with me. From these sketches I then work in acrylic on canvas. I try to capture feeling and mood in my paintings by translating the sketches into simplistic shape, colour and form. Most of my paintings are inspired by the Cornish coastline.

At the moment I am very inspired by waves. The contrasting summer tranquility with vibrant blues and the harsh, powerful, storm waves and the larger surfing breakers to the gently rippling waves.
