Mike gets his inspiration from his daily
interaction with the sea. He is known for capturing the essence
of the sea and the vast space found when staring out across the ocean
towards the horizon. His work is about the wonder of the world
around us - the beauty and splendour of the sea and the sky.
Mike's paintings simply radiate layer upon layer
of colour, built up to produce vibrant pictures which take the
onlooker to a calm, uplifting and inspirational place. He
leaves out cluttered details and focuses on the fundamental nature of
the scene - the everything and nothing of the sheer distance.
Colours glide off to distant horizons and light reflects out to
infinity. |
