Since moving back to Cornwall I have been hugely influenced by the Penwith landscape, particularly the coastline, and the work of the early Newlyn and St. Ives painters.
I like to paint in my ordinary small St. Ives garden, and by using enhanced colour and texture communicate the feeling that this little plot of land evokes. The late John Bratby may have been influential here.
I am also fascinated by the night- time reflections across the harbour from Smeaton's pier which form the starting point for several studies.
